Fellas, I'm back in town and we have some ground to make up. First we have a mandatory meeting coming this Thursday at Marcos (in Lynnwood on 99) at 7pm. This is a "offense only" meeting. Current offensive players and those who want to play offense this season should all attend.
Platooning is a great thing under the right circumstances however in the real world of "Simi Pro" football we all know that this is a once and a while situation. This coming Thursdays meeting will be similar to last years meetings and will be a nuts and bolts agenda and not a socializing "oh that was so cool last year" meeting. If you want to play offense then be there and be square.
Bring your pads (the writing one) and pencils as this years "O" basics will be laid out. Guys we are on a short time-line to get ready and competitive for the seasons first game. All of you who played with the Vikings last year know my coaching style and my dislike of wasting time during meetings and at practices. "I have not changed" Practices are for play repetitions, footwork and alignment tweaks, back field mesh and action timing, and or coarse every ones favorite, conditioning.
The next (2) Thursdays are where will we install or (teach) our offensive schemes and basics. When we get to the field my patience will be short for those want-to-be "posers" who year after year think they are so cool and "all that" they don't have to put in the time that the offense playbook requires. BS.
If you don't know it you can bet your playtime will be effected. Trust me on this one.
Meetings: Thursday February 21st and 28th 7pm at Marcos (in Lynnwood on 99)
Practices: Saturday February 23rd and March 2nd
Note: We will meet (4) times in 10 days. Above.... This will be our ramp up to regular padded practices.
See you on Thursday at Marcos
