Fellas, the teams first of 3 "Two- A Day" practice was well attended (41) and we got a lot done. The weather cooperated and all together it was a productive football day.
Next Saturday 3/17/12 we will be at the same time and location. If you have fees that still need to to be taken care of be in the parking lot early at 930 and look me up.
Remember if you "do not" have a satisfactory account balance you "will not" get your equipment on 3/24/12 and that means you "will not" practice with the team again until you do. No kidding.............
Helmet prep and painting: (or re-painting) has been brought up a lot lately so I will make this one time offer!!!!
Next Saturday 3/17/12 after practice I will stay around for a "helmet strip and prep party" with tools, thinner and rags for team use.
You supply the 600 grid sandpaper and the elbow grease.
All helmets must be completely free of "all" decals, glues, hardware, facemask. and interior padding. Prep all the surface area smoothly and evenly. What you see then is what you get later. Looks good or like s... your choice.
Painting: is not rocket science however there are a few steps you need to follow. After helmet prep remove all dust and sanding debris. Use a primer (plastic or regular) no matter what color the helmet is now. Apply in thin coats (4 or 5) let dry.
Important: for even paint coverage the room temp (or a sunny day) needs to be above 55 degrees for a shiny gloss finish. No decal application until after 48 hrs.
Countdown: from today we have just 40 days until we kick off game #1. We need to start maximizing our practice attendance and participation to be prepared both physically and mentally for this challenge. We have just 14 or maybe 15 practices left before we go head to head for real.
Ask yourself honestly "are "you" individually up to the challenges at hand"? "Not" Don't fool yourself into football heaven just yet.
Our opponents are getting ready too. They want to win too. We must out do them now in our individual and team preparation if we expect to out do them when it counts and be victorious on the field.
Remember that Commitment simply means you are with us are you are not.
Be safe, and hydrate well all week. DFU..............
