Fellas, yesterday was a progressive practice at Madrona. We had 47 players once things got started. We are starting to figure out the overall general shape of the 2012 Viking squad and it is promising.
The next few practices we are going to step up things and every consecutive practice after that, and here is why. We play our first game in just 48 days from today. (48) It will fly by guys.
We will only be in pads about 4 weeks or so before kickoff time. So that means we have our work cut out for us. Both coaches and players.
Injuries, are always with us like bad weather however we can do some things to improve our chances to avoid them.
Shoes, make sure they tightly laced and if we are on grass wear grass style cleats. Every body should have two pair of shoes one for grass one for turf or a combination type cleat.
Hydration is going to be a bigger issue as daytime temps rise and our workout intensity increases. Make sure you are drinking lots of water during the week before practice day and of coarse plenty during and after the practice.
Stretching be on time and stretch with the group. If you come in late don't walk in run in and get in get your s... on and get stretched out on your own. Don't forget my two laps.
As we get closer to our first kick off date your on time attendance becomes more critical. Excuses won't get it done. We as a team need to know who is with us and who is not.
We have a completely new coaching staff this season and some things have changed. We are moving forward and not weighting around for the super stars to show up in their tour bus. (Right)
No short cuts here guys...........your going to walk what you talk on the field where it counts. You have to practice if you are planning to play this season. Attendance and discipline are what we are about this coming season. Get used to it.
Next practice be there and be square. Which means be there early with the proper gear and prepared to bust some MAN.
Don't forget your fees. Pay them on time. No BS on this one.
By the way the disaster title was to make sure everybody read this message. Hope it worked.....
