First off, this doesn't apply to the players who plan on coming to practice tonight and showing up for our final game of the season in Bellingham tomorrow. I will gladly take the field with all of you and give this last game 110%.
To those who are quitting:
I have heard of players and have spoken to one that has said they are not coming tomorrow or tonight. I think the rest of the Vikings would like to know who else is deciding to leave us right before our last game. The least you can do is man up and face your team and tell them why you plan on quitting on your "fam".
"Fam", what the hell is this word? From what I understand it meant family, but I'm beginning to think it means something completely different. We all know the season has been rough, we haven't met our expectations, but is this how you treat family/teammates? Shit has hit the fan, we all know, and it's not obvious we are frustrated and upset off that things went south on us. But it's not a good enough reason to quit on a family that has invested energy and time with you, practiced with you, played with you, stood side by side with you, and felt the same hurt from the losses with you.
Are you playing for your team, yourself, or our fans? We had an Arena team full of young men look up to us and support us at our games all season. You think they weren't disappointed when we lost? When you quit, you're not just quitting on you, you are quitting on everyone, on the fans, on your friends, and you're adding to the frustration and burden for the rest of the players.
I'm pretty sure you started off the season with every intention of finishing it, right? Then what changed? You think you're the only one that's frustrated with the season? Did those losses hurt you more than anyone else? Are you following someone else and quitting because of various political reasons and the amount of sand in their vagina?
If you were raised a quitter than someone should probably let you know that quitting is what losers do. The only type of acceptable quitting in this situation is if you can't physically continue. It's when you have absolutely no choice but to stop, because if you didn't your really body would explode. If that's the case, then by all means quit. But none of you are in this situation, quitting will never lead you to your dreams, it will never give you lost moments, and it won't give you back a losing season. Quitting will lead you on a life of regret and broken dreams, quitting will cause you to never reach your potential, quitting is a character flaw, the synonym for a quitter is a coward.
Sorry this is lengthy, but I hate passive aggressive behavior and honestly I'm really upset at everyone who has said they are quitting even though I don't know who all of you are.
You all know how to defend a friend in a fight. Well, this is a fight. Your friends are going up to Bellingham tomorrow night to fight another group of friends, we need as many people as we can get so we can win. I guess we'll find out who has our back.
