Now I'm going to let you know that we have to be on our "A game" when we head up to face the Blitz which means get your a** to practice Wednesday AND Thursday!!!

Swain has made it very clear he knows where his ship is going and that if you want to go to the same place climb aboard. Well I will let you know that I am in that ship front row and center!!! I may not be the best player and I can honestly say that there are a few guys on my team that can easily fill my shoes at the tackle position so I am very thankful to be where I am but I consider myself one of the most dedicated guys on the team and I feel I have a s*** load of heart. Now if ALL of you guys can show some dedication and heart for the next couple of weeks than we WILL end up where Swain said our ship will end up and that is the championship game but it is up to US to come through on our end of the deal and WIN it! This will come happen unless we get together and polish a few things and get in sync with each other. They aren't going to just hand us the trophy. I learned this the last two seasons! We went to the chip and came back empty handed! It does NOT feel good I can promise you that much.

Man up and lets do this! I am not going to come back empty handed again this year. It's just not going to happen. We have a great deal of talent and can make it further than some of you think. Take this team and this FAMILY a little more seriously and I can assure you the results will be phenomenal!

Oh and as for the people that don't get much playing time or any for that matter. Keep your mouths shut or hand in your stuff because we don't need the "cancer" and I personally don't need to hear that when I come off the field. I'm getting sick of it. You are not in for a very obvious reason! Be men! We aren't kids anymore!

I was referring to the guys that don't get much playing time that run their mouths about things. I'm sure you guys were smart enough to know that but some people could take it the wrong way and think I am targeting EVERYONE that rarely sees the field.

Rami brings up a good point. It is always hard when it comes to playing time in these games. As a first year coach with the Bolts, that is why I have often relied on the other coaches to control many of the substitutions and allow me to instead worry about my calls in the game. I always like to reward those who have been in practices (not just now, but also in pre-season), but I was also taught as a coach in my early years a simple rule in deciding who plays:

Best players play.

"Best players" doesn't always mean the most talented or most gifted. It often means the guys who I'm sure know what the heck to do when I make a call. Now, players often may disagree with who I decide to put out there, especially in crunch situations. I'm here to tell you that you SHOULD. No player should be happy with any coach's decision to play someone else over them. The only issue is that during a game, no coach wants to see a sulking player (or worse-hear from a guy who is complaining about playing time). I'm never going to make everyone happy with playing time, but I'm not going to waste a lot of time trying to mend hurt feelings about it during the game either.

I will be there Wednesday. I promise that the starting 11 defenders for this week's game will be greatly influenced by who is there Wednesday (and Thursday).

Also- I would like to introduce 1-2 line stunts, and 1-2 new blitzes for this week. Those that know these calls will have a huge advantage when it comes to being on the field.

And, again Coaches - Don't hesitate to call on me for some Saftey or LB (or DE) PRACTICE. Putty, Swain and DB will tell you I know where to be every play, every down. Just a little (lot) old to get there in game sitatuations. So, use me for practice if you need someone to give the O a good look, or you are starting to look short. Have my T-bolts (and USA, and Frankfurt, and LC, and heck, even benson (donut)) helmet and all my own gear, so, it is just a matter of someone saying "come fill some holes Franklin". I was going to be there two weeks back, but, cancelled due to heat. Again, NOT looking for PT, and won't be at games except in the stands, but, am a Bolt for life, and wouldn't mind hitting at all. In fact, could REALLY use some hitting. PLEASE DON'T hesitate to say "Be there". All yours to use and abuse on the practice field.
