Viking special teams led the way with 16 points, including a 70 punt return by Jimi McCollum, a short fumble return on a fumbled punt snap by Sam Humble, and Michael Sitzman's 37 yard field goal.
The defense added 13 points with Matt Terwillinger returning a Jaguar fumble for a score on the Jags 2nd play from scrimmage, and Chris Stokes taking the ball from the Jaguar QB and going 30-40 yards on another fumble return for a TD.
On offense, QB Hal Bisnett connected with receiver JR Wells several times including a short fade for a TD. Brandon Lewis had a long run (40-50 yards?) around the right end for the Vikings final score.
I don't have a roster for the Jags, but coach/punter Mike Astley can still boot the snot out of the ball. Unfortunately he was punting to McCollum and Davie Beeks. Having played against each other for over a decade, Astley told McCollum that he wasn't going to let McCollum beat him. Astley's first punt was a booming 49 yarder that McCollum returned 45 yards before Astley made the touchdown saving tackle. Astley's next punt landed short and dribbled to McCollum who initially mishandled it. By the time he got a hold of it he was surrounded by Jags. Each took a turn get getting juked and reaching out and grabbing McCollum and spinning him around. Somehow he managed to keep his feet and break out of the pack. He outraced the Jags to the left sideline. Two Jags coming up to make the tackle were blocked by one Viking and once again Astley was the only defender between McCollum and the endzone ... but this time McCollum had blockers. Two Vikings steamrolled Astley and McCollum cut inside behind their block and was gone. Davie Beeks also had a long punt return but it was nullified by a penalty.
