This conversation got me banned from the EFL message board. Can you believe it?

Can we get an EFL team to come play West of the mountains? Hey Stars and Knights – there’s a lot of talk between the Shockers (PNFC) and Jaguars (NWFL) about who the best team in the state is. I haven’t heard you mentioned – why don’t you come over and show them?
To my hometown Sabercats - I hope to be there rooting for you against the Miners on May 26!

John,
When the NWFL makes their season in line with the GNFA then maybe something could be worked out but until that time comes I don't see it happening. Our season is well over as the NWFL's is going and none of our teams want to hang around that long. Like I said, if the NWFL becomes a spring league and joins the GNFA then maybe we'll have some playoff games.

It wouldn't necessarily be a playoff game - just an inter-league game to build good will between the leagues.
With a little bit of foresight the timing issues could be worked out. For example, if the NWFL scheduler knew when the 2008 GNFA championship game was then he could schedule any NWFL team for a bye the following week.
Or, since not all EFL teams will be involved in the GNFA playoffs perhaps one of them could come over, or host, a good will game after the EFL season.
My point is merely that with enough time and communication it could be worked out.
Then there's always the July 4th weekend (historically a bye for all NWFL teams) or May or early June games before the NWFL season starts (assuming the EFL has byes in their schedule).
Another idea I posted on the GNFA message board is about making the Cascade Bowl II and the NWFL's much anticipated Stallions/Jags game a double header (assuming the Cascade Bowl will be played West of the mountains this year). The theory is that this would give the GNFA an opportunity show the NWFL what they're missing out on, and then the GNFA can watch two of the NWFL favorites play. The idea is purely a selfish one as I'd like to see both games.

Since the NWFL is not a part of the GNFA we would not expect them to follow our rules. We're very familiar with the way teams get stacked up for playoffs/championships. If the NWFL wants to participate with the GNFA then they must join it first.

Et tu Jerrid? Et tu? ;D I detect quite a different tone when you're wearing the Commissioner's hat compared to when you're posting as "Edge"
Well that's a big "f... off" if I've ever heard one. Who said ANYTHING about joining the GNFA? I was just suggesting more inter-league play.
It almost seems like another issue had to be created since it's been shown that the scheduling issue can be worked around.
I answered those stacking concerns on the GNFA message board but that post was deleted as well. Until specific examples are brought up it just comes across as sour grapes. Painting the NWFL with that broad brush is akin to painting the EFL with the stink of Chuck Love.
I'll drop the issue and allow you to enjoy your koolaid in peace.

First of all I can't stand kookaid unless something is added to make it more enjoyable. Interleague games are great as we've had a few against some of the NWFL teams. My only point is that there have been several of the NWFL teams saying that the GNFA Champion play the NWFL Champion so that there can be a true Northwest Champion. There will be a true Northwest Champion being who wins the GNFA. My only point is no one should be able to enjoy the benefits of something unless they belong to it first. This may not be what you were saying but several others from the NWFL have been. Interleague games are great but once the GNFA Champion is decided then it's over for us until next season. Sorry if you took it any other way.

I'm not saying that the GNFA Champion should play the NWFL champion to crown a "true" Northwest Champion.

Yes - it would be nice to for the NWFL to join the GNFA and unify minor league football throughout the region - but that's up to the NWFL owners. I'm just a fan. I'm justJohn. Besides, it's abundantly clear on this side of the mountains that the NWFL is not invited. Spite for the NWFL is the entire reason the PNFC was formed in the first place.
Personally, the best reason for the NWFL to join the GNFA might be that it would absolutely drive Meadows and Maty insane with rage. ;D We could all enjoy that a bit.
