Twenty five gamers from the Olympic Peninsula Eagles marched into Death Valley to meet their MLFA fate at the hands of the King County Jaguars.
Although dominating the time of possession in the first half, they still found themselves down 49-0 at the break.
QB Johntyan "Stiltz" Walker, playing in relief of Nathan Hale', deftly led the Jaguars on a 4 or 5 play scoring drive to end the game. He executed several flawless handoffs to Malachi DeWalt and Tank Proctor to move the Jaguars from the Eagle 35 down inside the 10. With the fans chanting for a QB sneak, Walker calmly dropped back and threw a near perfect pass to Anthony Montgomery, who outmuscled the Eagle defender for his 2nd score of the day. Walker ended the day with a QB rating of 135.4. Kevin Flanagan's sixth PAT put the final score at 70-0.
The Jaguar defense opened the game with safety Milton Myers intercepting a long Dandy Don Purser pass along the sideline near midfield. Tank Proctor rumbled around left end down inside the 10 yard line. On the next play James Phillips hit Michael Bush on a quick slant to open the scoring.
Jermiah Captain intercepted the next Eagle pass and returned the ball 30+? yards deep into Eagle territory but a penalty nullified the return. On the next play QB James Phillips heaved a long pass down the right sideline to Anthony Montgomery. Montgomery had to slow up a bit for the ball but was far enough behind the defense to still go in untouched.
Having back to back passes intercepted, the Eagles focused on their running game and were even able to grind out first down before having to punt. Upback Milton Myers fielded the short punt at the Jaguar 40 and scampered down the right sideline for another score.
The Jaguar offense only had three plays from scrimmage in the first quarter yet led the game 21-0.
The Jaguar offense wasn't forced to mount a drive until the 2nd quarter when they went on a 5? play 50? yard drive culminated by Andre Edwards going in standing up behind the left side of the Jaguar offensive line.
I'm not sure about the order of the rest of the scores.... Hopefully someone who wasn't chasing a 5 year old around all game can fill in the blanks.
