Exciting game, down to the wire. Score difference due to a blocked extra point in OT.

Larry Moody, kicking off an injured ankle on his plant foot, nailed a clutch 32 yard FG with 1:04 remaining to tie the game.
In the opening possession of the Kansas City Tie breaker, back to back Viking encroachment penalties helped the Cavaliers move down to the 7 yard line. On 3rd or 4th down, Cav QB Dave Evans rolled left to draw the defense over and threw back across the field to WR Bryan Hooper, who outjumped the Viking DB at the 1 and dove into the endzone. Chris Potts, who had boomed a 50 yard QB in the 2nd half to give the Cavs a 10-7 lead, came on for the PAT but the attempt was blocked.
The Vikings opened their possession of OT with QB John McCourt heaving a well thrown fade into the corner of the endzone but the WR couldn't make the catch. The Vikings went back to their ground game and moved the ball inside the 10 before Steve Casino rumbled off left tackle over one Cavalier defender and through another into the endzone to tie the game. A perfect PAT by Moody gave the Vikings the win.
The Vikings scored in the first half on a long drive highlighted by a long run by Mike Harris, the final 10-15 yards of it in a backpedal. He later scored on a short run on which he was just able to reach the ball across the goal line. The Cavaliers tied the game at 7 in the 3rd quarter on Jake Early's blocked punt return.
The Viking defense did a superb job of shutting down the Cavalier running game and pressuring the QB. The Cavs were playing without their offensive coordinator and it showed on most drives. The Viking front 7 routinely met the Cavalier ball carriers at the point of attack or chased them down if they tried to go outside. In the secondary, safety Brian Carter had 2 interceptions for the Vikings.
I missed the opening 5 minutes and the 3rd quarter so please check back for updates and corrections.

Hard fought game by both teams. I love the effort by both teams. When teams play to a standstill like we have so many times it is hard to see one team or the other lose. Thet's how it is when it comes down to OT. Best of luck the rest of the way guys. See you on the field.
