Last Saturday was my last game with the Saints. Something happen to me Sunday morning that gave me a scare. I love the game of football but my doc said that for my health that I should give the game up. I will try to be their this weekend but I just don't think I can watch with out wanting to put on the pads. My heart is with the team. I just wish I could of quit on my terms and not in this way. I will turn in my things that belong to the Saints. I will try to make it out on Thurs to do so. Much love and good luck with the rest of the games.

I just wanted to say thanks for helping me along these past few years. I think even though you aren't going to play anymore, you would be a great coach. I know it would be a hard step; I did it when I went from playing at the college level to coaching for 14 years, before playing again. After that adjusment, you'll find that coaching can be very rewarding. Good luck with everything, and see you Thurs.

Hey Dan. This is sad news. I have always looked at you as one of the cornerstones of the Saints team. We can sure use some more good coaches. Hope to see you stick around as a coach.
