I was talking about why I deleted my post addressing it to people who might have read it and thought it contained good points, and my response was "why even waste my breath!" We will just start another debate and give other leagues more run on our board and after thinking about it a little I am just not going to do that any more. But thank you for making sure that other people weren't clipping my posts!

Well whoever posted these "facts" would be a great politician! For example the LCFL has 24 teams not 14. I just spent two minutes and found 36 more teams in two leagues and there were like 15 more links for leagues under that on the search engine and that was just California, so please stop trying to legitimize your place in the world by making all kinds of claims that are "facts" and just do your little second string spring thing .
He obviously searched for the "facts" to support his case but didn't search for real "facts". The LCFL is just one summer semi pro league in California there are several more! But why argue? The funny thing is these people eat that stuff up and feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Who really cares what people in the GNFA spring league think anyway? We are wasting way too much time talking about all of this!
John,
Don't downgrade yourself by going on their board and posting messages to defend the NWFL! They confirm everyday that they love this stuff by actually taking the time to register on OUR board and post messages regularly! I don't care what they are talking about on the GNFA forum.......There isn't a team in this region that could beat our champ! If they want to prove us wrong they can come get some! Nobody in the NWFL is hiding! Nobody in the NWFL has excuse after excuse for why we can't play games! The 3 and 4 teams in our league would play any of these teams any time anywhere with no excuses! The #5 team has beaten 2 of them! Until we quit wolfin and line up and play then it's all just talk!
The spring league will be a memory in another few weeks. We may have teams that don't have good uniforms but we don't have teams folding the day before games! I have respect for the fact that the Shockers are a good football team as well as the Blue Mountain Stars and Tri-City Knights, and Oregon Outlaws. They seem happy with the regional thing we have just graduated to trying to play games on a national level. That happens when you have already been there and done that!

Thats great to see all those spring leagues out there but what does it really mean though? I believe 7 of these league champions continue on to play after their own league tournament in the summer months and play in the FWFA tournament where a zone 1 and zone 2 champion is crowned in December in NV. Maybe another western spring tournament is coming?
The NAFL currently has 108 NAFL(1) summer teams and like 22 NAFL(2) summer teams with one tournament. NAFL Western expansion is coming and it just may bring along with it some of these spring teams. I believe one day that the NAFL and the FWFA will merge. Just my opinion....

If these spring sissys are so scared of the NWFL stacking our team why not let them stack their let the put the best team the possibly can together and will do the same and if we win they meet us in the middle if we lose it legitamizes them and we join the gay league it would be fair the best against the best as long as I'm on the team and we can end all this hogwash cause thats what real men do if your gonna talk the talk you gotta walk the walk .Unless their just scared and thats the case we should stop being bullys and leave them alone. All I know is The NWFL is full of men of action always ready to get it crackin.

All this hatred is really silly. Why? Everyone in all leagues have the same goal in mind: to be the best. Why cant we put all this political BS aside and get on the field and prove who is best? I have been playing semi-pro ball since 1995 in places like Cali in the CFA (Now the LCFL West), SWFL in Cali, the Metro league in Illinois and Wisconsin, and the NWFL and PNFC. There are good teams ALL OVER. I have played against teams from Cali all the way to New York. There is good football being played all over the country. From what I have seen, the NAFL has the majority of really good teams in the nation. Is that saying that non-NAFL teams cant compete? NO! They are just a much bigger organization who have collected more teams than most other National leagues. The LCFL has great ideas and is slowly catching up. The GNFA is putting together something cool. Why hate on each other. This is football. You should want to play the best to be the best. I hear all this talk from several non-NWFL people talking about a National title not meaning anything, thats GARBAGE! I have won it twice now, and it is truly a special feeling winning it! You feel like you are on top of the world! I know its just a semi-pro Championship, but to be called the best in the country at ANYTHING says something! I have played a couple EFL teams. They ARE good. BUT, they would get SMASHED in the NAFL playoffs! Same goes for the PNFC teams. Its a different ballgame fellas. When you get into the national scene, away from your own leagues, you are playing against teams who have nothing but ex D1 college players. Hell, sometimes you are playing against guys who were just cut from NFL teams. The competition level is much higher than the EFL, PNFC, and yes, even the NWFL! THIS is why winning "one of" the National Championships is so cool. The journey all the way there is NO JOKE!! Once again, I want to commend the Shockers for trying to establish their dominance by playing all the NWFL teams they can. They seem to be trying to be the best out there, and not making excuses of why they cant play summer teams.

To be apart of something special, striving to become the best is whats in us all. Don't get me wrong a local championship is fantastic but there's always that gut inner feeling of wonder after the excitement goes away. A wonder as the years pass and you no longer play anymore. A wonder of just how far the 2007 championship team you was on could have went. In 2005 when the Jags beat the Dallas Diesel, then the following week defeated the Arkansas Rhino's it was a very special feeling I'll never forget even for a guy like me volunteering, helping out behind the scenes being apart of a top notch team headed to Florida for the National Championship. We came up short in Florida that evening, but it was something you never forget. Last season as well headed down to San Fran for a Western National title.

GNFA leadership has basically said that "national championships are mythical because they're too expensive."
Yes, there are several national championships and some are more legitimate than others. Some are regional tournaments that claim a national championship. Others are whatever two teams are willing to travel for the one game championship. Some are attempting to be legitimate national playoffs.
Before the BCS the NCAA had the AP, UPI and coaches poll national champions - so the problem is not unique to semi-pro football.
If the NWFL champion claims to be the Northwest Champion would that undermine the GNFA championship title at all? Not at all.
Rather than take the high road and just state that they choose not to confront the financial burden of participating in a national championship quest, they've made a conscious effort to belittle those who do.
There are haters on both sides. For example, individuals affiliated with the NWFL have used this forum to call the GNFA a "JV title" and called them stupid for playing in the spring. Let's try to remember that haters are in the vast minority on both sides. Don't let the few negative voices be the loudest. Let's do our best to speak positively about other leagues and associations. We may not have the same goals but we all are involved in the same game.
