I'm not thinkin a players meeting is going to be that successful. What might work is if each team had a player rep. Those reps either meet or conversate with 1 player that is the Players rep for the league. That palyer then goes to the meeting with whatever the players got. Hey Rob you are at those meetings... What do you think on all this? Thats what I was saying J..... Each team Rep lets meet and talk about whats going on get our votes in on Pres. and VP so we can get things moving. Not all players LOL!!!!!

Please stop demanding that the GNFA bow down to the NWFL and accept them into our association on their terms. It's not going to happen. What about this can't you understand? EFL Commissioner / CEO: Jerrid Edgington

So maybe we can get on the horn and get the word out that we need player reps. The sooner I receive the PM the sooner we can start planning the meeting. That way we can be ready by the next league meeting....

Yes wow the EFL comish has graced us with his presence. Now screw that....
What about the players rep deal Rob? Is it something you think the other owners and comish would go for?

What do you think on all this? My opinion yes it would be a great thing to receive ideas and ways to make things better. But what this union Representative needs to do first and foremost is to call/contact or visit the NWFL Commissioner and let him know what you are doing well before any meetings. I wouldn't just show up with a list of stuff that might make things worse. Protocol and respect for the office is a great thing.

That sounds like the right way to go about things. Maybe the owners could discuss this topic a little at this Sunday's meeting so it's atleast put on the table.

First discuss this with Commissioner Baines.

You know that anyone can go to the meeting and be put on the agenda under new business. Yes it would be a good idea for a player rep from each team to be there.

I think player reps meet and designate their rep at the league meeting. We can't have the whole creation trying to fit in the Poodle Dog. I can barely fit at the table when I go.

But as Rob stated, gotta talk to the Commish first about this....
No one likes getting blindsided with things whether it be a rep just showing up or a rep getting turned away...

Well here the Commish phone # 253-472-0969 . Call him up and ask to speak at the next meeting? I vote Rollis for the NWFL Player union rep.

The other option is to go through your team's owner. And have them rep the player's on their teams opinions. Honestly as good as it sounds to have a players rep there. It isn't likey that it will be accepted. The problem with that is not every team always goes to the meetings. But that might give all of the owners another reason to make sure they have someone at the meeting to represent their team.

It's been brought up in the past. But nothing has ever come of it. Which honestly is what will probaly happen here.
Simple fact the OWNERS and Comish Baines run this league. It's doubtful that they would let any kind of a players association or anything like that get any kind of thought. They provide the players a chance to play. With that said what kind of say do you really think the players will or should have? Yea most of us pay a players fee. But that is about $200 max. The owners fork out thousands season after season.

Its equivalent exchange I think. They enjoy what they do, we enjoy what we do.Otherwise, no one would do it.Its sort of a scratch their backs and they scratch ours in my eyes. I think of us like college players. Take away scholarships, classes, and the major money colleges are pulling off their athletes, add children and work and you have semi-pro players. A semi-pro player gets hurt and thats it, his whole life is effected. Nothing to fall back on. You go out there and get crippled, and your family may not eat. That alone entitles us to some say!!

I can't argue with that.
But it will likely bring up that you volunteered to be out here. You know what the risks are you accept those risks when you sign up.

Yeah, I agree, but we all know that is a BS blow off that all businesses use. The same could be said about an owner. Nobody makes them spend all that money. It is volunteering. ; )

;D We'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm sure some of the owners will read this thread and give us their opinions at some point.

I say lets cut out the negative chat about the situation. To me that puts the thought in there head before we get there. You never know what could happen. Lets just focus and try to make it work. Like Nick said we risk a lot playing in this league and they risk a lot forking over the money for there teams to play when 90 percent of the time they don't get it back. Major injuries could easily put us out of a 9 to 5 as well as our homes. We all sacrifice something. Lets just go and take it from there. We just have to be professional first off and bring ligit ideas and concerns to the table. Don't come unprepared you have to be serious about these things.
