Fellas, first let me say congrats to all of you on yesterdays win over the Bengals. It was a great team win and you should all "savor the flavor" on this one.
Next week we look forward to the first round of the playoffs and a tough opponent over in Yakima. We will have two adversaries on Saturday. First is the Mavericks team themselves and second is the weather. Temperatures of 90 or better are expected at kickoff time. This will be by far the warmest weather we have confronted this season.
Hydration. Remember that hydration will be critical before during and after this game so start your hydration cycle early this week. You are responsible for you and your on-field performance.
Injuries have taken their toll this season however we still pack a considerable sting if we wish to use it. Practice this week is very important as we continue to put new personnel in new positions. We also have this week to heal up so be doing what is required to re-cooperate and get ready for the Mavs.
The two most important practices of any season are the "first" one where we wonder what we will become and how far we will go and the "last" one where we see how far we have come as individuals and as a team. Since we don't know the outcome of next Saturdays game we must consider this to be our last practice. This means everybody showing up one last time to prepare for our playoff collision with the Mavericks.
Hope to see you all out there this week to give the Vikings a proper send off to the 2012 playoffs.
