Fellas, sorry I'm late with my weekly team message I have been a little bit under the weather and it has slowed up my writing.
At the beginning of the year way back on February 18th we started the 2012 Viking season. We started slow and began to grow to over "60 players" on the roster and our team spirit and confidence was very high. We were Raising Hell at every practice.
Now turn the clock forward 87 days..............
Hey "60 players" where are all of you now. The truth is their were never "60 players" just 60 names on a piece of paper called a team roster.
In reality as far as I can see we have only about 45 "ever changing" bodies or so on game days and 30 something "ever changing" bodies on practice days, and 16 or so bodies on film nights. Notice any trend there??
Guys we need to circle the wagons "right now" and find out whats really up with our ball team. Who is real and who is not and who can be counted on to give their "all" the entire season and not just when they feel like it..
We have 5 or 6 regular season games left this season and we simply cannot go forward if our individual attitudes are all wrong and our practice attendance is weak.
Yes so far things have been a little rocky however its not the end of the game plan for 2012.
Some may want the upcoming "Oregon" game to go away, they say its to far away, or we won't be at full strength, whats the point we can't win and the ever popular forget this game and "lets get to the bye heal up and regroup" that is pure BS.
Guys a bye won't improve our team commitment or improve our attitudes or our $$ issues. In my opinion all bye's ever do is weaken a team and diminishes our team rhythm and conditioning.
A good team of "true athletes" would never accept blowing a game off as a solution and would keep trying to improve individually and as a team. Are we that team.....?
Football is a game that reveals an individuals true character "good or bad" Just look around you on this 2012 team over the last few weeks and you have seen with your own eyes the truth of these words.
Players that are infected with non commitment, lack of heart, laziness, and a Me Me Me attitude do not just act this way around football teams. This is the way these individuals run their own lives day in and day out. They bring a cancer into our locker rooms "when they show up " and can't be depended on. Don't loan them any $$$.
Lets start Raising Hell again soon....Lets start tonight at practice.
