Greetings D-Crew,
Read your email and acknowledge to me you saw it. It reads like this:
Good morning D-Crew,
I hope all of you are well rested and ready for some football. We need this game! Now is the time for all of you to step up your game and prove who you are and what this family means to you. If everyone shows as expected, we will have more D-Crew family available to us than we've had in awhile. This makes us stronger and faster! This allows us to compete, hopefully win our battles and give our offense a chance to fight another battle to win the war. Is everything I just said a bit cliche? Yes... but it's the truth!
We will be opening in in the 4-3 today. I will announce the starting lineup once I see who shows. We will also use the the 4-2-5 to give the offense a different look. Whichever is working the best is what we will finish in. Playing time will vary to heavy for some, less to some and very little for others today. Remember today is what is best for the family and the team. Cool??
REMINDERS:
86 plays is way too many!!
Communication and Confidence!!
Play smart!!
Don't let them or the officials get in your head!!
DE's: CONTAINMENT!! at least 3 yards deep before you turn in!! They like to sweep and throw to the flats. You are key to stopping this! Keep yours eyes up!
DT's: EYES UP!! you have the best view of the football. Control your gaps.
LB'S: FLOW!! to the football. Remember in the I formation they will have a fullback and the first backer there should take him on and the Mike should finish it along with the other players close by. Remember assignments: drop back on passes in the middle, outside hook to curl or flats depend on strength side. If you are called on the blitz and are clear to go then GO!!
Dog's: Get to your Zone!! If we are in the Cover 3, you have to get to the flats. Avoid getting caught up in traffic by playing deeper and not so close to the LOS. Also - You need to take on the fullback and either Ram or Bull should be finishing. On the Cover 2, play deeper and cover deep.
CB's: EYES UP!! Watch for the sweep. Don't get caught up on their blocks. Remain confident!!
SAFETY'S: Your it!! Over the top and run support. Everyone else on the D-Crew counts on you to be there. Create Trust!
INPUT:
I will be the only one calling the shots from the sideline today and that will carry out to the field call, anyone changing what was called will watch the game from the sideline. If I'm not available for the call than Eric E or Tom F will call it. I will be asking for input from whats going on the field from certain players. Please consult with them and I will have them report to me. This will reduce the chaos on the sideline.
The following players will report to me:
Chris L and Mike B for the D-Line
Eric E and Tom F for LBs
Jay P and Anthony H for DB's
Please let me know ASAP if you're out of the game or going to be late for the game. Also acknowledge you've seen and understand this message. It's important we be at our best today.
Good luck and God speed today!
