Coach Fischer wanted us to be reminded that this is a Football Message board, not a political message board and should not be used as such.

Well I applogize for reminding people that the vote for president of the United States of America is probably the most important thing many of us will do this year! I also feel that it is not a political message( like naming candidates or telling people who to vote for) but an American message which we all are!!!
But I applogize I was unaware that it would have been that much of an issue, I will not happen again!!!!
Hopefully we understand that football is great, but sometimes there are bigger issues!

Josh, The "General Board" is for NWFL related topics. It probably wouldn't have been a big deal if all the posts in the thread had been as mature as yours. Applogy accepted. Bull, Let's hope that, as President, Obama gets his scalp problem taken care of.

*sigh*
"Hater", with all it's variations, is such an intellectually limiting expression. It's a way of dismissing any disagreement without thinking.
Someone disagrees with you and you can't convince them that your point of view is correct? Just call him a "hater".
Someone doesn't acknowledge that you're God's gift to your profession? Must be a hater.
Dandruff killing your image? Those flakes are just haterz.

Regardless of who you liked in the election or who you voted for, Obama is our next President. When looking up hater this is what I found:
1 : to feel extreme enmity toward <hates his country's enemies> , 2 : to have a strong aversion to : find very distasteful <hated to have to meet strangers> <hate hypocrisy> intransitive verb : to express or feel extreme enmity or active hostility .
To find very distasteful, this described exactly what Bull58 is saying (haters), if you cannot be happy for the success of someone who defies the boundaries of race then that is definitely, hating.
Also I am not saying that McCain would have been a bad President I am just saying that Obama did a great job and if someone cannot give him credit that sucks. This race for Presidency was much more than that it was a race to prove that a minority had the knowledge and skills to run a country. Obama proved that a dream can come true no matter its size. I have four mixed children and whether or not we want to admit it, life is not going to be an easy ride because there will be those that say that they cannot do this or that because of their race, Obama gave them hope along with hope for many others. So please stop taking that away from my children.

You do realize that, in that video, he was referring to Hillary Clinton ... don't you? Hillary Clinton is a "hater"? Here's the entire clip, in context , with audio. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzXcNgCr0nkWho's not giving Obama credit? Who is saying anthing about negative about Obama? Who has a strong aversion to Obama himself? How are those people any different than people with a strong aversion to President Bush? It was nothing more than his record and proposed policies that concerned the vast majority of the 60,000,000+ people who did not vote for him. We "hate" him as much as you "hate" veterans, POWs and old people. Who doubted minorities had the knowledge and skills to run a country? Unless you believe that George Bush had the "knowledge and skill to run a country", merely getting elected doesn't prove anything in this regard. It's so easy, intellectually lazy even, to dismiss disagreement as "hate".

I dont hate anyone however it is the same as those who did not vote for McCain (haters). I dont ever remember you saying anything about minorities I was just saying that it does mean something to some people and lets face it not any old JOE (lol) can be the President. My 8 and 12 year old have both already been the target of simple racism, nothing too bad but nonetheless racism. This just gives them hope. In addition I am thankful for Veterans, as I have many in my family. Never was my post to be used as a shot at any Americans. I think that either of the candidates would have been fine, I agreed with some things from both sides and disagreed with some also. McCain would have been hated on as well, for me it is not about politics it is about my kids learning that it is not what people say about you but how strong you stand when they do.

I thought they voted for Obama because they liked his proposed policies more, not because they hated McCain.

If you asked the Obama supporters about McCain they would probably have some hating of their own. This is politics you back who you like and slander who you dont. Not cool but fact.

Are you a "hater" Tonya?
Did you "fall in line" and back President Bush?

Actually I did and I am not for or against anyone. Although I have my beliefs and they may differ from those of our past President, I went with it untill things went astray. I think at least give the guy a chance, should he worsen our country I will stand outside the whithouse with you and picket but untill then just give him a break.

I remember when Bill Clinton said that he was the biggest fairy tale. I also Remember he said that Jackson won SC. I really like Hillary Clinton and thought she had a chance until Bill said a few things, but hey that is politics. Bill Clinton in my opinion was a good president but hurt Hillary's chances. The media kept saying that Obama could not win if he didn't choose Hillary as his running mate and they were wrong, that is what the media wanted. He proved everyone wrong and I congratulate him. If McCain- Palin won I would not like it, but I would support him and move on.

McCain is certainly better than Bush, however, his decision to add Palin to his ticket is what cost him the election. She was a trainwreck and was very underqualified. The thought of her running the country (McCain is 72 and has had cancer 3 times) is terrifying. She seemed so uneducated and ignorant every time that she opened her mouth. I just hope that they keep mocking her on Saturday night live

I think McCain made a mistake also with his running mate. I think Huckabee-McCain or a McCain-Powell or a Powell-Romoney had a better chance, Just my opinion.

McCain-Huckabee or McCain-Guiliani would have been good in my opinion. Too bad McCain went too "Maverick with his pick

I put Huckabee on top of the ticket only because mcCain is 72 mcCain clearly has more experience then Huckabee, but Huckabee is well qualified. I also think Guiliani- Paul could of done some damage. Young voters loved Ron Paul.

What's in that victory punch? You're sounding like a couple of angry drunks. FYI ... shows like SNL, The Daily Show, etc, aren't really news shows. Just thought you should know that. Palin wasn't the problem.
