Exciting news today. We are now officially associated with the State Games of Oregon. (www.stategamesoforegon.org) The State games have been running successfully for 23 yrs. Year in and year out they hold these games in the same capacity that minor league football is run. Dan (Executive Director of the State Games of Oregon) and I had a really good meeting today to discuss scheduling and cross marketing. As he and I talk via the phone and email we both felt that we each had something to bring to the table to make this a win/win situation. As it turns out the Blackshirt’s first home game was scheduled on July 12th, which turned out to be the same weekend that the State games of Oregon were to be using MHCC. So the talks began. Both organizations are excited to help each other out with marketing and scheduling and running the events for the weekend.
This is a prime example of making a scheduling conflict become an excellent opportunity, just by communicating and working together. I am personally appreciative of Dan for being open to the idea and it would seem that he is as excited about this opportunity as I am.
More exciting news,
As most of you know, the Blackshirts are making every home game a charity game. As it turns out the game on the 12th of July is going to be a charity game for the men and women that are serving our country abroad. The 162nd division of the Air national Guard will be in full regiment that weekend as it is a drill weekend for them and they are excited to be apart of the festivities. Proceeds from sponsors, gate fees, and concessions will be donated to accomplish two things. First we will be buying a bunch of phone cards to be able to send to our local men and women overseas so that they will be able to call home. Secondly, we will be donating money to the charity that is for the spouses and families of our men and women that are abroad.
LT Kyle Akers will be doing the coin toss at the game. I think he is excited to do so.
Adam:
As you can tell you and I have a few things to go over so please give me a call when you get this
