This is something interesting to talk about during our lazy summer bye week. Article from the Minor League Football News....(You'll find the article next to the 49ers helmet) www.minorleaguefootballnews.com/NEWS FROM THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST The South Sound Shockers 14 game win streak came to a end at the hands of the Blue Mountain (Walla Walla)Stars, undefeated Champions of the Evergreen Football League, in the Great Northwest Football Association Championship. We have been told the South Sound Shockers may be looking at joining the Nortwest Football League next year. There is no competition for them in the Pacific Northwest League. The Lane County (Oregon) Dragons have not won a game in two years in the PNFC, and word is they will disband. At least one PNFC teams is looking at joining the Cascade League in 2008. The first year Cascade League is into its playoffs this weekend with the Snohomish County Thunder playing at the Whatcom County Raiders and the Puget Sound Invaders at the Olympic Peninsula Eagles. All four teams will return to the CFL next year, and four or more new teams will join to make in 2008. The league holds a meeting the day of the Championship game on July 14th.

The Shockers would be one hell of an addition to the NWFL. If this happens I predict a lot of pride swallowing.

The PNFC has responded to this article:
MLFN SPREADING RUMORS
It was brought to the attention of the PNFC that the MLFN is posting unfounded rumors and lies concerning the PNFC and it's members. A recent article indicated that the Lane County Dragons were shutting down operations and the Shockers were leaving for the NWFL. All are false statements. The Dragons are fine and the Shockers have zero interest in the summer league. The MLFN articles are written by the creator of the rival league CFL and owner of a team in that league and are obviously motivated by an attempt to lure other PNFC teams away in fear of a PNFC collapse. Teams thinking about joining the CFL should be aware of who and what they are dealing with when entering into a venture with this individual as he apparently will stop at nothing to push his own agenda. Our respect for the MLFN and it's legitimacy of being a source of "news and views" is once again tarnished by the recklessness of one unscrupulous individual.

This sounds like politics 101. If one reads between the lines you could see some nuggets of truth in both press releases.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I can see the CFL trying to cause trouble and gain more standing and legitimacy, but I can also see the PNFC trying to save their existence by denying what may possibly be truth.

Well if the Shockers leave, the Dragons fold, a unknown pnfc team joins the CFL and if the Wolves don't come back in 08 that leaves just 2 pnfc teams left.
(This is not bashing but subtracting)

It really wouldn't be a two team league because the shockers will stay to remain pnfc champion for the next decade. ;D

It would be nice to have the shockers in the nwfl also the mustangs too they are both good teams. 12 teams in the nwfl would make for some great computition. I could see the mustangs coming over first, less drama.
